Competition

Although we will not mention our competition by name, those familiar with the companies that offer software to the green industry may recognize who we discuss here. We believe ActiveApplications has the widest market position for any company offering products to the green industry. We know ActiveApplications has the best quality software and support of any of our competitors. We also know we offer the applications you need to run your business. 

Over the years we have converted many accounts from our competitors and have knowledge of the competition from those conversions. This gives us a unique perspective on the quality of their systems design and we will have comments on that. We also can discuss the platforms that they use and why ActiveApplications is on a better platform. We also have seen licensing requirements from some companies that you should know about. 

We know ActiveApplications users that have used our competitors software. They are better able to offer comments that we cannot because we do not have first hand knowledge. We may have information we can share but due to the limited geographic area the company covers they may not be in the list. Only the national companies we compete with on a regular basis that have been around a few years are included.  

Competitor #1: Established company that sells to nursery and greenhouse companies as well as farming businesses. Find out why there may be other things to consider.

Competitor #2: Been in business almost as long as UDS. They claim to be experts in how to run landscape, nursery and retail businesses. The family has a long history of green industry involvement. It is interesting that all of the old family businesses have closed and the only remaining business is this one. 

Competitor #3: Very popular software that many smaller size companies use. Accountants seem to like pushing this solution because it is easy for them to change entries. We compete with this company mostly on price. Let me explain the real cost of using this software. 

Your company is unique. Before purchasing your next or first accounting software you should know how it can be adapted to fit your business processes. Some software is written so that it works in one way. If your company has different processes and those processes should not be changed and the processes required by the software do not match, you have a problem.
